Processing Refunds
Need to refund a player? Golfify lets you process full or partial refunds directly inside the app — no need to log into your Stripe dashboard. You can also view the full transaction history for your event, track refund statuses, and see an activity log for each payment.

View your event transactions
Before processing a refund, you'll want to find the transaction. Golfify gives you a central view of all payment activity for your event.
-
Open your event and tap the gear icon to open the Host Menu.
-
Tap Payments. You can also tap the currency icon on the event HOME tab as a shortcut.
-
The Payments screen shows all transactions for the event, collected revenue, and pending invoices.
-
Tap any transaction to see its full details, including estimated proceeds after Stripe and Golfify fees.
View payments for a specific player
If you need to check one player's payments, there are two quick routes:
- From Player Manager — tap the currency icon next to the player's name to go straight to their payment view.
- From View Registration — open the player's more menu, tap View Registration, and scroll to their transactions at the bottom.
Process a refund
You can start a refund from either the event Payments screen or from an individual player's payment view. Both routes lead to the same refund flow.
From the event Payments screen
- Go to Host Menu → Payments.
- Tap the transaction you want to refund.
- Tap the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Tap Refund.
From an individual player
- Go to Host Menu → Player Manager.
- Tap the currency icon next to the player, or open View Registration from their more menu.
- Scroll to their transactions and tap the relevant one.
- Tap the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Tap Refund.
Choose full or partial refund
When you tap Refund, Golfify shows the line items in the transaction. You can choose to refund everything or only selected items.
- Full refund — select all line items. The entire transaction amount is refunded.
- Partial refund — select only the items you want to refund. For example, if one booking included two players, you can refund just one player's entry without refunding the whole booking.
- Select the item(s) you want to refund.
- Tap Process Refund.
Golfify processes the refund and returns you to the transaction detail screen.
Refund statuses
After a refund is processed, the transaction status updates on the Payments screen:
- Refunded — the full transaction has been refunded
- Partially Refunded — only some line items were refunded
It may take a short moment for the status to update. Each transaction also includes an Activity section that shows the full payment timeline — original payment, refund events, and status changes. This is a useful audit trail when you need to understand exactly what happened with a payment.
How it works
When you process a refund inside Golfify:
- The refund is sent to Stripe and the player receives their money back
- The Golfify application fee is refunded on a pro rata basis for partial refunds
- If you refund the entire transaction, the Golfify application fee is fully refunded
- The transaction status and activity log update automatically
If you process a refund directly in your Stripe dashboard, the Golfify application fee will not be refunded. Always use the refund flow inside Golfify to ensure fees are handled correctly.
Troubleshooting
Give it a moment and refresh the transaction detail screen. It can take a short time for the status to reflect after processing.
Use the line item selection screen when processing the refund. Select only the line item for the player you want to refund.
Check whether the refund was processed in Stripe rather than in Golfify. Refunds made directly in Stripe do not refund the Golfify application fee.
Make sure you've tapped into the transaction detail first. The Refund option is in the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the transaction detail screen.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I refund only one player from a multi-player booking?
Yes. When you start a refund, Golfify shows the individual line items in the transaction. Select only the player you want to refund and tap Process Refund.
Should I refund from Stripe or Golfify?
Always refund from Golfify when possible. Refunds processed directly in Stripe will not refund the Golfify application fee.
Will Golfify show whether a refund was partial or full?
Yes. Transactions are marked as Refunded or Partially Refunded, and the activity log shows the full history.
Do I still need Stripe for anything?
Stripe remains the source of truth for final payment processing and payouts. Golfify gives you a convenient in-app view for day-to-day event payment management.
