Player Registration Fees
Once you've set an entry fee on your event, players can pay when they join — either by accepting an invitation or by entering the event directly through a shared link. This article covers what happens from both the player's and the host's perspective.

You'll need payments enabled on your event before players can pay entry fees. See Set Up Payments to connect Stripe and configure your entry fee.
Set entry fees for your event
Entry fees are configured in your event's registration settings.
-
Open your event and tap the gear icon to open the Host Menu.
-
Tap Event Settings, then tap Registration & Payments.
-
Tap Event Entry and set your fee amount, then tap Save.
-
Toggle Event Entry Open to on when you're ready for players to register and pay.
How players pay — invite flow
You can invite players directly, and they'll pay the entry fee when they accept the invitation.
-
From your event, go to Host Menu → Player Manager.
-
Tap Invite and select the player you want to invite.
-
The invited player will see the event in their Invitations section on the Home Screen, receive an in-app notification, and get an email.
-
When the player opens the invitation, they can tap Accept & Enter to begin the checkout flow.
-
The player reviews the entry fee, optionally adds additional players to their booking, and taps Review & Pay.
-
They complete payment through Stripe Checkout and are returned to Golfify, now entered into the event.
If a player taps Decline, they won't be charged. You can see declined invitations in the Declined section of Player Manager.
How players pay — join and pay flow
If you share your event link publicly, players can enter and pay without needing an invitation.
-
Share your event link or event code with players.
-
The player opens the event and taps Enter on the event HOME screen.
-
They review the entry fee, optionally add other players, and tap Review & Pay.
-
Payment is completed through Stripe Checkout, and the player is entered into the event.
This flow works well for open events, society days, or any event where you want players to self-register and pay.
What hosts see
After a player pays and enters the event, you'll see them in Player Manager with their payment status.
You can check individual player payments by tapping the currency icon next to their name in Player Manager, or by opening their registration via the more menu and choosing View Registration.
To see all payment activity for the event, go to Host Menu → Payments. This shows collected revenue, pending invoices, and individual transactions.
How it works
When a player enters a paid event in Golfify, the checkout flow handles everything automatically:
- The entry fee is shown clearly before payment
- If Player Pays Golfify Fee is enabled, the Golfify application fee appears as a separate line item at checkout
- Players can add additional players to a single booking, and the total updates automatically
- Payment is processed securely through Stripe Checkout
- After payment, the player is entered into the event and can view their registration details, tee time (if assigned), and transaction summary
If Select Tee Slot is enabled in your event settings, players can choose their own tee time during registration. Otherwise, you assign tee slots from the Tee Sheet.
Use Invites when you want more control over who joins and the ability to track responses. Use the event link for faster, open self-registration.
Troubleshooting
Make sure Event Entry Open is toggled on in Host Menu → Event Settings → Registration & Payments.
Ask them to check their Invitations section on the Home Screen, their notifications, and their email inbox.
If Select Tee Slot is not enabled, the player enters without a tee slot. You can assign one from the Tee Sheet in Player Manager.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do players have to be invited before they can pay?
No. If you share the event link and Event Entry Open is toggled on, players can enter and pay without an invitation.
Can players add other people to their booking?
Yes. During checkout, players can add extra players to their booking. The total price updates automatically based on the number of players.
Is there another way to collect payment from players?
Yes. If you prefer to add players to the event first and collect payment afterwards, use Invoicing instead.
