National Flags on Leaderboards

If your event includes players from different countries, you can display national flags next to their names on the leaderboard in Golfify. It's a small visual touch that works well for international events, society tours, and friendly competitions with a global mix.

Set a player's nationality​

You can set or update any player's nationality from the Player Manager.

  1. From your event, tap the gear icon to open the Host Menu.

  2. Tap Player Manager to open Players & Tee Sheet.

  3. On the PLAYERS tab, tap the ⋯ (more) menu next to a player's name.

  4. Tap Edit Player Details.

  5. Scroll to Nationality and select the correct country.

  6. Tap Save to apply.

Players can set their own nationality​

Players are prompted to choose their nationality when they first sign in to Golfify. If you'd rather let players handle this themselves, you may not need to edit anything as the host.

If you do set a nationality as the host, your selection takes precedence over the player's own choice.

Bulk-set nationalities via CSV​

For larger events, you can set nationalities for all players at once using the nationality column in a Bulk Upload. Enter the ISO-3 country code for each player (e.g. AUS, USA, GBR, JPN).

Enable flags on the leaderboard​

Once player nationalities are set, turn on the flag display.

  1. From your event, tap the gear icon to open the Host Menu.

  2. Tap Leaderboard Settings.

  3. Scroll to the bottom and toggle Show National Flags to On.

  4. Tap Save, then open the LEADERBOARD tab to see flags alongside player names.

How it works​

Flags appear next to player names on all supported leaderboard views, including the in-app leaderboard, public leaderboard links, and TV leaderboards. Flags are display-only — they don't affect scoring or rankings in any way.

Viewers don't need a Golfify account to see flags on public or embedded leaderboards.

Troubleshooting​

Flags not showing on the leaderboard

Make sure Show National Flags is toggled On in Leaderboard Settings, and that the players you expect to see flags for have a nationality set. Check the PLAYERS tab to verify.

Only some players have flags

Players who haven't selected a nationality during sign-up or haven't had one set by the host won't display a flag. Update their nationality through Player Manager or ask them to set it in their profile.

Frequently Asked Questions​

Do flags change scoring or rankings?

No. Flags are purely visual and don't affect results in any way.

Can I bulk-set nationalities?

Yes. Use the nationality column in your Bulk Upload CSV with an ISO-3 country code for each player. See Bulk Upload Players for details.

Do flags show on TV leaderboards?

Yes. Flags display on in-app leaderboards, public leaderboard links, and TV leaderboards.
