Golfify Groups

Groups in Golfify let you organise your regular players into a single place, making it easy to invite them to events, manage team competitions, and keep your golf community connected. If you run recurring events with the same group of players, Groups will save you time every round.

What are Groups?

A Group is a collection of players you manage together in Golfify. Once you've created a Group and added members, you can:

  • Invite the entire Group to an event with a single tap.
  • Split the Group into Subgroups for team-based competitions like Ryder Cup or LIV-style events.
  • Add Group members directly to tee slots.
  • Reuse the same Group across multiple events without re-entering player details.

Create a Group

  1. From the Home Screen, tap the + button in the bottom-right corner.

  2. Tap Group.

  3. Customise your Group:

    • Logo — add a logo or image for your Group.
    • Group Name — give your Group a name.
    • Description — optional description for members.
    • Public / Private — choose whether anyone can find and join, or members must be invited.
    • Group Colour — this colour appears on leaderboards when the Group is used in team events.
  4. Tap Save to create your Group.

Add and manage members

Once your Group is created, you can start adding players.

  1. Open the Group and go to the Members section, or tap the gear icon → Group Settings → Group Members.

  2. Add players using one of these methods:

    • Add Player — directly add a player by name and email. You can also upload a spreadsheet to add multiple players at once.
    • Invite Player — send an email invitation. The player chooses whether to join.
    • Recent Players / Buddies — quickly add players you've interacted with before on Golfify.
tip

To add many players at once, use the spreadsheet upload option within Add Player. Request the template via email, fill it out, and upload it back into the app.

Share your Group

You can share your Group with others by copying the Group link:

  1. Open the Group.
  2. Tap the share icon in the app bar.
  3. Copy the Group Link and send it via WhatsApp, email, or any messaging app.

Players who tap the link can join your Group directly.

Use Groups in events

Groups become especially useful when you're creating and managing events.

Invite Group members to an event

When adding players to an event, you can invite an entire Group at once:

  1. Go to the Add Players section of your event.
  2. Tap Invite Player.
  3. Select Invite All Players from a Group and choose the Group you want to invite.

This is the fastest way to get your regular players into an event.

Add Group members to tee slots

You can also add Group members directly to specific tee slots:

  1. Go to the gear icon → Host Menu → Tee Sheet.
  2. Tap an empty slot on the TEE SHEET.
  3. Select a player from your Group to fill that slot.

Set up Subgroups for team events

Subgroups let you divide your Group into teams — ideal for Ryder Cup, LIV-style, or other team-based formats.

  1. Open the Group and tap the gear icon → Group Settings → Manage Subgroups.

  2. Create teams with unique names and logos.

  3. Assign players from the main Group into each Subgroup.

When you use this Group in a team event, the Subgroups appear as the teams on the leaderboard.

tip

You can also create teams directly from an event's settings if you don't want to set up Subgroups in advance.

Reusing Groups across events

Groups persist across events — you don't need to recreate them each time. If you remove a member from a Group, they are only removed from inactive events linked to that Group. Players who are currently in an active scorecard cannot be removed, and finished scorecards are unaffected.

How it works

Once you've created a Group, it appears on your Home Screen in the horizontal Group strip at the top of the Play tab. Tap any Group avatar to open it. From there, you can view the feed, manage members, and create events using the Group's player list.
