Change Hole Order and Sequence

Not every event uses all 18 holes in the standard order. In Golfify, you can choose exactly which holes to play and in what order — whether you're running a 9-hole event, playing a custom selection, or even repeating holes. This guide covers all the options.

Access hole settings​

  1. Open your event and tap the gear icon to open the Host Menu.

  2. Tap Event Settings.

    For a multi-round event, tap Event Settings, then select the specific round you want to configure from the round list.

  3. Tap Facility, Course, Tees & Holes.

  4. Scroll to the Holes section at the bottom of the screen.

Set up a 9-hole event​

By default, Golfify selects all 18 holes. To run a 9-hole event:

  1. In the Holes section, use the shortcut buttons at the top:

    • All — selects all 18 holes.
    • Front — selects holes 1–9 only.
    • Back — selects holes 10–18 only.

  2. Tap Front or Back depending on which nine you want to play.

  3. Tap Save to apply.

The Front and Back shortcuts are the quickest way to set up a 9-hole competition in Golfify.

Select specific holes​

You can also pick individual holes to include or exclude:

  1. In the Holes section, tap any hole number to toggle it on or off.

  2. Deselected holes won't appear on players' scorecards.

  3. Tap Save when you're done.

This is useful if your course has a hole out of play or you want to skip certain holes for a casual event.

Use advanced hole ordering​

For complete control over which holes are played and in what order:

  1. In the Holes section, tap Advanced in the top-right corner.

  2. The advanced view shows a detailed breakdown of the hole sequence.

  3. Double-tap a hole to remove it from the sequence.

  4. Tap a hole from the available list above to add it to your sequence in any position.

This gives you full flexibility — you can play holes in any order, repeat holes, or build a completely custom layout. For example, you could play holes 16, 17, 18, then return to play 16 and 17 again.

  1. Tap Save to apply your custom sequence.

Make sure your hole sequence is finalised before you activate the event. Changing the hole order after activation may affect active scorecards.

Flexi Holes for small groups​

If your event has a single grouping of four players or fewer, Golfify offers Flexi Holes. This feature automatically adjusts the scorecard based on however many holes the group plays — no manual hole setup required.

Players simply play the holes they want, and Golfify handles the rest. The scorecard and leaderboard reflect only the holes that were actually played.

For events with more than four players, you'll need to set the holes in advance using the methods described above.

How it works​

Once you save your hole selection, the scorecard for every player in the event reflects your chosen holes and sequence. Players will only see and score the holes you've selected, in the order you've set. The leaderboard calculates results based on the configured holes only.
