Individual Strokeplay and Stableford
Individual events are the most common format in golf, and Golfify makes them straightforward to set up. Whether you're running a medal round (Strokeplay) or a points-based competition (Stableford), the setup process in Golfify is the same — you just choose your scoring method.
Make sure you've already created an event and selected your course. You'll choose the competition format during event setup.

What are Individual Strokeplay and Stableford?
Both formats have each player competing on their own — there are no teams. The difference is how scores are counted.
- Strokeplay (Medal) — the total number of strokes over the round determines the result. The lowest score wins. Also called "medal" play.
- Stableford — players earn points based on their score relative to par on each hole. The highest points total wins. Stableford is more forgiving if a player has a bad hole, because they simply score zero points and move on.
Most club competitions, society days, and casual rounds use one of these two formats.
How to set it up

From the Home Screen, tap the + button and select Single Round Event (or add a round in a multi-round event).

Complete your Round Information — event name, date, and player capacity.

From your event, tap the gear icon to open the Host Menu.

Tap Event Settings, then scroll to Format & Scoring.

Under Competition Format, select Individual.

Choose your scoring method:
- Stroke Play — for a traditional medal competition
- Stableford — for a points-based competition

Configure any additional settings:
- Handicapping — enable net scoring if your players have handicaps
- Divisions and Flights — split your leaderboard by handicap range, tee, or custom selection

Add your players via Host Menu → Player Manager and assign tee times on the TEE SHEET tab.

When you're ready, go to the HOME tab and tap Activate to start scoring.
Scoring and leaderboard
Once the event is activated, each player enters their own scores hole by hole on their scorecard. The leaderboard updates in real time as scores come in.
- In Stroke Play, the leaderboard ranks players by total strokes (lowest wins).
- In Stableford, the leaderboard ranks players by total points (highest wins).
If you've enabled handicaps, the leaderboard shows both gross and net results.
Stableford is a great choice for mixed-ability groups. If a player struggles on a hole, they simply pick up and score zero points — it keeps the round moving and avoids frustration.
