Set Up Skins
Skins adds a hole-by-hole competition layer to your event — the player with the lowest score on each hole wins the skin, and tied holes can carry over to the next. It's a popular way to keep every hole meaningful, and in Golfify you can run it alongside any scoring format.
Make sure you've already created an event and added your players. Skins can be enabled before or after activating the event.
Here's a quick overview of how Skins works in Golfify.
Enable Skins on the Leaderboard
-
From your event, tap the gear icon to open the Host Menu.
-
Tap Leaderboard Settings.
-
You'll see two Skins options:
- Overall Skins — compares each player's score against the entire field. The more players, the harder it is to win a skin.
- Grouping Skins — compares scores only within each tee-time grouping. Ideal for Ryder Cup-style play or smaller group competitions.
-
Toggle on one or both options. They can run side by side.
-
Tap Save.
Configure Carry-Over Settings
When two or more players tie on a hole, the skin can either be lost or carry over to the next hole — making the next skin worth more.
-
Tap the gear icon to open the Host Menu.
-
Tap Event Settings, then scroll to Format & Scoring.
-
Find the Skin Settings section.
-
Choose whether skins should carry over in the event of a tie.
-
Tap Save.
View Skins on the Leaderboard
Once players start entering scores, skins appear on the LEADERBOARD tab.
-
Tap the LEADERBOARD tab in your event.
-
Swipe right to find the Skins columns — you'll see both Net Skins and Gross Skins (and Grouping Skins if enabled).
-
Tap any column heading to sort the leaderboard by that skins value.
Run Skins for a Subset of Players
If you want Skins to apply only to certain players — for example, a members-only skins game within a larger open event — you can run Skins inside a Division.
When you view Skins within a specific Division, the results are calculated only from the players in that Division.
Set it up
-
Create a Division for the players you want in the skins game. A Custom Division works best because you choose exactly who's included.
-
Add only the skins-eligible players to that Division.
-
On the LEADERBOARD tab, filter to the Division you created.
-
The Skins columns now show results calculated from that Division's players only.
You can create multiple divisions for multiple skins games — for example, "Members Skins" and "Guests Skins" — and each one calculates independently.
If a player isn't appearing in a Division's Skins results, make sure they've been assigned to the Division. Check the Division player list in Host Menu → Event Settings → Flights / Divisions.
